The name Opat since its inception in 1949 has become synonymous with painting and maintenance. The company founder, David Opat, served his apprenticeship as a Painter-Decorator in Poland within the long standing family business.

After the Second World War David initially conducted business in Paris. In 1949, he immigrated to Melbourne where the Opat Group of Companies was born.

From these humble beginnings, David has built a substantial business that boasts an impeccable track record and proud reputation within the painting and maintenance industry.
