Fitzroy Town Hall

This project involved the staged restoration of an historic local landmark.  The scope of work included the rust treatment and coating of period cast iron columns, balustrade and fencing and the preparation and coating of original timber window and door joinery.  Of particular interest was the clock tower which required not only the preparation, treatment and coating of the four original clock faces, but also repainting works to the domed roof.  This was achieved by carefully colour matching and applying modern products to duplicate the original weathered lead and copper cladding.  Opat was also engaged to re-instate the gold leaf text to heritage stone signage.

Marine Parade

The exposed coastal position of these waterfront apartments had led to rust spots becoming visible on the existing render cladding.  This occurs due to the salt laden moist air causing iron sand particles in the render mix to breakdown and rust.  Opat worked with the product manufacturer to provide a specification for re-coating the render that sealed the rusting particles and provide a long life durable coating that will prevent the problem from re-occuring.  Opat and the manufacturer have provided a ten year warranty on the materials and workmanship to provide the client not only with a great looking building, but peace of mind for many years to come.

Albatross North

Due to its exposed marine environment, this beachside resort required extensive concrete rectification works, prior to being repainted.  Both tasks were completed by Opat.

As you are aware, OPAT has just finished painting our building and I am writing to express our appreciation for a job well done. 

The two tradesmen that painted our building were polite, courteous and helpful with all our requests and requirements.  Would you please pass on our thanks for their combined effort, which made a usually disruptive process very acceptable."

Albatross North Apartments

Pacific Regis

This beachfront apartment building was painted previously by Opat in 1999.  The latest brief was to render all previously painted brick surfaces and paint the entire exterior.  A specific render and paint system (by Dulux) was proposed, which was then carried out by Opat.  Full 24 hour pedestrian/resident access was maintained throughout the term of the works and which was necessary for tourist accommodation requirements.

Meadow Peak

This gated residential estate consists of 123 townhouses which required extensive render repairs to walls/joints and maintenance repainting.  Both tasks have been undertaken by Opat.

Mountain View Terraces

Maintenance repainting to the majority of this apartment complex was carried out by Opat.  Parts of the interior and exterior had suffered water damages.
